The Town of Corning Offices are located at 20 South Maple St, Corning NY 14830

The Town of Corning was established in 1852. Located in southeastern Steuben County, it has a total area of 37.3 miles. The Town is bordered on the East by the Town of Big Flats, on the North by the Town of Hornby, on the South by The Town of Caton and West by the Town of Erwin. The Town has 56.1 miles of roads. 

Interstate 86 runs through the Town along with State Routes 17, 414, 225, 352. There are two Villages within the Town, the Village of Riverside and Village of South Corning. 

The Town is home to the 550 acre campus of Corning Community College.

Fire Rescue Study Community Survey

For Immediate Release
The Town of Corning has been awarded a grant from New York State to assist us in our Strategic Planning efforts to assure Efficient Effective and Safe delivery of fire rescue services. To assist in that process we are conducting an Online Survey of the Residents and Business Operators in the Town & City of Corning and the Village of South Corning in the areas served by our fire rescue departments: South Corning, East Corning, North Corning, Gibson Fire Department and the City of Corning. We invite you to take this confidential survey which is being conducted by our Public Safety Consultant Ron Graner.
We all deeply appreciate the time and efforts our dedicated Emergency Responders give in service to the people of this community. This survey will help us understand what you view as your fire rescue service's primary Strengths & Weaknesses. It will provide an insight of your opinions on what Opportunities you see for us to improve and what Threats you see that will impact the ability of our local fire rescue services to serve this community.

Your views, ideas and feedback are important to help guide our strategic planning efforts as we all strive to assure continued Efficient, Effective and Safe delivery of fire rescue services in our community. Our Emergency Responders will each be requested to take a separate survey that will provide us with their views and insights into the issues they face in service to our community.
