Tax Extension

Due to the current circumstances with the Corona Virus pandemic, the Town of Corning Tax Collector was granted an extension from the County of Steuben. This extends the due date for tax payments to be collected at this location. The taxes will be accepted here until April 30. 

The amount due will be same amount due in March as there will be no additional penalty added until they are received by the County after April 30, 2020.

Payments may be placed in the Town Clerk drop box located off the S. Elm Street parking  lot. A receipt will be mailed to you.

State of Emergency

Town of Corning effective today, Monday, March 17, 2020 until April 21, 2020 or until the Town Board makes the determination otherwise. 

Town buildings will be closed to the public. Supervisor Feehan urges Town residents to follow CDC and Steuben County Health Department guidelines and limit your potential exposure to the coronavirus. 

“This is the first step in keeping Town residents healthy and safe,” said Supervisor Feehan. 

Town services will not be disrupted, however, the Town Buildings are-closing their doors to the public. The Town will be updating Town resident and the public with important information via the Town website at and any inquiries may be made to the Supervisor at

Town Offices Closed Until Further Notice

Due to today’s state mandated Coronavirus requirements for nonessential gatherings, the Town of Corning offices will be closed until further notice and all meetings and non-essential functions are cancelled.  The Town Board meeting scheduled for tomorrow 3/17/2020 is also cancelled and will be rescheduled at a later date.
